As of now were are already 2 National championships in, boy how times flies. This is a round up of both athletes who have or will compete in large championships this summer.
Senior Nationals were held in Moncton this year from June 20th to the 23rd.
Naomie Maltais who placed 6th in the Discus with a throw of 40.26m.
Veronica Coombes finished 3rd in the T54 women’s 200m with a time of 40.06s. As well as 2nd in the women’s T54 100m with a time of 20.85s.
James Brace finished 6th in the men’s T54 200m with a time of 31.88s. As well as 6th in the men’s T54 100m with a time of 17.46s.
Jeremie Pellerin finished 16th in the men’s 5000m with a time of 14:57.30.
Pierre Landry finished 6th in the men’s Long Jump with a jump of 7.05m.
Chris Robertson finished 7th in the men’s Decathlon with a total of 6095 pts.
Jason Mackenzie finished 10th in the men’s decathlon with a total of 5889 pts.
Alexa-Maude Mallais finished 11th in the qualifying for the women’s 200m with a time of 25.92s. As well as 6th in the women’s 100m qualifying with a time of 12.82s.
Lee Wesselius finished 11th in the men’s 3000m steeplechase with a time of 9:16.53.
Christel Robichaud finished 2nd in the women’s F58 Shot Put with a throw of 4.51m.
Here comes another boom of events as we move on to Junior Nationals which were held in Sainte-Therese Quebec on July 13th through 14th.
Aaron LeBlanc finished 7th in the Men’s Hammer throw with a throw of 43.21m to break the provincial record! He also finished 13th in the discus throw with a throw of 34.59m.
Alexander Williston ran an 11.04s 100m and finished 18th overall. He also ran a 22.83 in the 200m but failed to qualify onward.
Brandon Cleghorn ran a 12.00s in the 100m but failed to qualify from there. As well as 15th in the long jump with a jump of 5.85m.
Shawna McKay ran a 26.28s in the 200m qualifying round and a 12.58s in the 100m and finished 22nd in the semi-finals.
Lee Wesselius ran a 9:12.44 in the 3000m steeplechase to capture 6th place.
Monika LeBlanc finished 7th in the Long Jump with a jump of 4.62m. As well as 6th in the triple jump with a 9.41m.
Syndey MacDonald also set a provincial record in the 100m hurdles with a time of 15.61s, but regrettably was unable to finish her heptathlon.

The Next stop on our road trip of the summer is the Legion National team. They compete the 9th to 11th of August in Langley BC. We had 9 athletes qualify for these championships. (and a coach, good job Wendy!)

Our final stop is with the Canada Games team! These athletes will be travelling to Sherbrooke with many other NB sports to compete in week 2 of the games from the 11th through 18th of August.
